About Elesk Apparel

Backstory

The foundation for Elesk Apparel began in the Spring of 2010 when founder Amy Hawkins spent 24 days traveling throughout Europe.  Visiting a new city every 2-3 days, she carried all her belongings in a backpack for ease. Every item had to be versatile. Over the duration of the trip, she found herself wearing a lightweight cardigan as a scarf to protect her chest/shoulders from getting sunburned or as scarf with a jacket for added warmth.

She was fortunate enough to return to Europe a couple of years later but found herself in the same situation – changing locations every few days, only a backpack to carry her belongings, and wearing her trusted lightweight cardigan as a scarf on sunny and cool days.

It was at that point the wheels started turning. Could she make a versatile multi-wear cardigan for others? Could it be worn in different ways other than a scarf? Yes and yes! Being the granddaughter of a seamstress, Amy used her inherited sewing skills to create the Evolution Cardigan – Elesk Apparel’s first product.
