Our Backstory
Elesk Apparel’s journey began in the spring of 2011 when founder Amy Hawkins set off on a 3.5-week adventure across Europe. Traveling to a new city every 2-3 days, Amy packed light, carrying only a backpack. Every item had to be versatile, and one piece quickly became indispensable - a lightweight cardigan. In addition to being a cardigan, she wore it as a shawl to protect her shoulders from the sun and as a scarf when the weather turned cool.
A few years later, Amy returned to Europe with the same minimalist approach—and, of course, her trusty cardigan-turned-scarf. It was on that trip that inspiration struck: Could she create a versatile, multi-functional cardigan that others could enjoy? One that could be worn in different ways, beyond just a scarf? The answer was a resounding yes!
Fueled by this idea, Amy put her sewing skills to work. The result? The prototype of the Evolution Cardigan - Elesk Apparel’s very first product and a true embodiment of ‘do more with less.’
